Thundermist

School-based nurse practitioner

Thundermist Health Center is a private, non-profit community health center serving three Rhode Island communities. We have been serving Rhode Island for more than 40 years. All of our sites are recognized by the National Health Service Corps entitling most of our health care providers for federal loan repayment. We also sponsor physicians for work visas. We are currently recruiting for a pediatric or family practice Nurse Practitioner for our school based health center. The school-based nurse practitioner is responsible for providing primary medical care, within the limits of the training of a nurse practitioner, to assigned patients.

This position can be full time, with non-school hours fulfilled in one of the Thundermist locations; or part time, with non- scheduled time during school vacation periods. Clinical hours limited to 30 per week while school is in session.

The nurse practitioner is a licensed, autonomous provider executing professional clinical judgment in the care of his/her patients, according to the guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the agency and in accordance with the physician precepting terms set forth by the agency.

Qualifications
• RI RN and NPP Licensure
• ANA Certification in family medicine or pediatrics

Palliative Care NP

Beacon Palliative Care Services needs to hire a full-time Nurse Practitioner to provide Palliative Care consults to patients in Rhode Island.

  • Performs focused bedside evaluation of patients.
  • Provides services related to health maintenance and promotion, palliative care and end-of-life care.
  • Prescribes medications including controlled substances to the extent delegated and licensed.
  • Consults with Palliative Care physician as needed, informs primary physician of services provided and collaboration with another physician if ordered.
  • Provides training and continuing education on palliative care and end-of-life care.

Geriatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a full-time nurse practitioner to join our Division of Geriatrics. Our team consists of seven physicians and four nurse practitioners. Our nurse practitioners are valued members of our team and collaborate with the attending physicians in nursing homes, ambulatory care, and palliative care consultation program.

All four current NPs hold Alpert Medical School faculty appointments, in recognition of the teaching they do – medical and nursing students, residents and fellows. This is a day position, Monday through Friday with evening and weekend call responsibility, shared with geriatric medicine fellows and physician attending back-up.

Qualifications: MSN from accredited NP program with national certification as an FNP, ANP or GNP with Rhode Island licensure. Geriatrics experience preferred.
